South Jordan

City, Governing Board - Interlocal, Watershed Council

South Jordan’s involvement in the Jordan River Commission reflects the City’s deep commitment to preserving open space and enhancing quality of life through regional collaboration. The Jordan River Corridor, which borders South Jordan’s eastern edge, is a cornerstone of the City’s open space network—offering nearly 320 acres of preserved natural land, including 185 acres managed by South Jordan. This area not only provides essential recreational amenities, like trails, playgrounds, and pickleball courts, but also delivers critical environmental benefits such as improved air and water quality, habitat preservation, and carbon absorption.

As an active member of the Commission, South Jordan aligns with the shared vision outlined in the Blueprint Jordan River, working alongside neighboring communities to protect and enhance this regional treasure. Our participation strengthens our long-term efforts to ensure the Jordan River remains a vibrant, accessible, and sustainable resource for generations to come.
