The Jordan River Trail is a great place to take your favorite pup on a walk. If you are looking for a spot to let your dog run, there are a handful of dog parks located right along the trail for you to use! These off-leash areas offer a safe and designated space for your dog to socialize and exercise. Remember to always clean up after your pet and follow the specific rules posted at each park and to keep your dog on leash outside of these designated areas.

  • Respect Wildlife: Maintain a safe distance from any wildlife encountered. Do not feed animals.
  • Respect others: Be courteous of others using the parks and playgrounds.  Share the space and facilities.    
  • Pack It In, Pack It Out: Do not litter. Dispose of all trash in designated receptacles or take it with you.  Better yet, if you see litter, help us out by picking it up!  Make your own clean up kit and keep it with you when you are out, so you have somewhere to put that trash!
  • Keep dogs on leash: Not only does it keep your dog and others safe, it is against the law!  There are a handful of dog parks, check out the FAQ’s below or search the map for dog parks.

Who manages the parks and playgrounds?
There isn’t a simple answer to this question (which is part of the reason why the Jordan River Commission exists!).  It is a mix of the cities and counties that manage and maintain the various facilities.

Are there any dog parks along the Jordan River Parkway?
Yes there are!  Check them out below, and remember to always keep your dog on leash outside of these designated areas.
